CLTList Pro Portal: Charlotte's Multilingual Business Directory
WebProNC built the CLTList Pro Portal — a multilingual Charlotte business directory with 15+ categories, 80+ listings, and a management portal for business owners.
A directory is only as good as its community.
CLTList set out to connect Charlotte businesses with customers — including the city's global diaspora audience. That meant building more than a listings page: it needed a living community hub where businesses manage their presence, post deals, and publish content, all in the visitor's own language.
Built for two audiences at once
Charlotte's international community is a defining feature of the city, so multilingual support wasn't a nice-to-have — it was core architecture. The portal ships with English and Russian built in, plus automatic translation for other languages. A business owner posts once; the community reads in whatever language they prefer.
What we built
- Business directory with 15+ categories and 80+ active listings
- Pro Portal — a management interface where businesses control their ads and presence
- Community blog giving the directory an editorial voice
- Multilingual platform — English + Russian native, auto-translate for the rest
- Verified listings and community deals building trust into the marketplace
The takeaway for community platforms
Directories fail when they're static. They thrive when the businesses inside them have tools to participate — posting, updating, engaging. Build the management experience with as much care as the public pages, and the directory starts running itself.
